Giving her all

I heard tinkering noises in the kitchen at five ‘o clock sharp this morning.  My six-year-old daughter was working alone on my birthday breakfast, complete with juice in a fancy glass, generic poptarts, a handwritten note, scripture verses, flowers picked in the big, scary dark outside, and even the kitchen windows washed.  She worked for nearly an hour and, later that morning, she was literally in tears from exhaustion and hunger (yes, I fed her!)

We had talked about sacrifice last night.  How Abraham was called to sacrifice his only son, and later of God giving of His only Son to save the world.  We talked of giving of ourselves.  I would say she is “getting it”.

Have a blessed Easter!
